Fennel

(Foeniculum vulgare)

This herbaceous, perennial plant, with its branched stem, grows to 0.8—2 m in height. It is green streaked with blue and is glistening and full. The dark green-blue leaves are shiny and petiolate, sheathed at the top of the stem and divided into filiform strips. The small yellow flowers (June to August) are organised in large terminal umbels, The fruits are dark grey, tapered, streaked and smooth .
